Admitted to the State Bar in 1991, Mr. Berestka has extensive experience as a civil litigator, focusing on the defense of personal injury, premises liability, employment discrimination, professional liability, product liability matters, and business disputes.  He has provided employment counseling and drafted employment manuals for businesses, and he also has counseled physicians’ groups and hospitals regarding employment decisions.  In addition, Mr. Berestka has provided forensic analysis of jury verdicts in nationwide diet drug litigation where he helped craft future trial strategies to defend against such claims.

Mr. Berestka has extensive trial experience, and was recognized by the Los Angeles/San Francisco Daily Journal for securing one of 2016’s Top Defense Verdicts in California.  He has also drafted numerous appellate briefs and writ petitions, and has successfully presented oral argument before the California Courts of Appeal on numerous occasions.

Mr. Berestka also serves as an arbitrator and mediator helping to resolve business disputes, personal injury claims, and product liability actions, and he continues to volunteer his time as a settlement mentor for the Contra Costa and Alameda County Superior Courts.

Mr. Berestka is admitted to practice law in California, Colorado, and Massachusetts, as well as all federal courts within those states.  He is AV-rated, the highest rating by Martindale Hubbell.  Mr. Berestka is also a California Licensed Real Estate Broker.
