Thomas E. Borbely, Esq.
Founding Partner
Mr. Borbely has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2005 and since that time has focused his practice on construction defect litigation primarily in the context of insurance defense litigation. Mr. Borbely also has experience in personal injury, general liability, product defect, and workers compensation litigation. He is admitted to practice before all the courts of the State of California and all United States District Courts in California. Mr. Borbely’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation, primarily representation of developers, general contractors, design professionals, and subcontractors in high exposure construction defect matters. With extensive trial experience and multiple successful arbitrations resulting in defense verdicts, Mr. Borbely is experienced in every phase of the civil litigation and arbitration process.
Prior to founding Borbely & Associates in 2017, Mr. Borbely was a partner with Boornazian, Jensen & Garthe, focusing primarily on representation of developers and general contractors in high-exposure construction defect matters.
Mr. Borbely is also an active member of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California & Nevada, the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance, the Contra Costa County Bar Association, and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Posse.
